Forum For Equality Louisiana

The mission of the Forum For Equality Lousiana is to promote and sustain the equality of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons in the State of Louisiana. Equality is meant to include the protection of human and civil rights and the elimination of prejudice and discrimination.

We accomplish our mission through the establishment of fair and equitable laws protecting the rights of LGBT persons and the elimination of laws that would seek to counter this effort. We pursue our activities within the definition of the IRS code section 501(c)4, and in accordance with all local, state and federal laws. Our activities include statewide legislative efforts,  local initiatives,  political activism and advocacy campaigns. Our organization is composed of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight allies united in our belief that full human rights should be extended to the LGBT community. Become familiar with our advocacy issues here.

Our agenda includes:

  • Employment Non-Discrimination,
  • Nondiscriminating Ordinances in Municipalities Throughout Louisiana,
  • Safe Schools and Anti-Bullying,
  • Second Parent Adoption,
  • Domestic Partnership Benefits.

The Forum For Equality Louisiana has established working groups and local chapters in the following cities: Baton Rouge, Alexandria/Central Louisiana, Lafayette/Acadiana, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans and Shreveport.
